Welcome to Maple Grove UMC

Our mission is to be an open community of Christians who love God and serve our neighbors (Luke 10:27). We truly do believe and try to live out the slogan of our denomination's national ad campaign Open Doors, Open Minds, Open Hearts. Our ministry teams reflect our understanding that every member is a minister. Maple Grove is strategically located on the southwest corner of the busy High and Henderson intersection in the Clintonville-Beechwold area of Columbus which provides us a wonderful window to the world.  We would like to invite you to join us for any of our events, especially Sunday morning worship and Sunday School.

Spotlight Series: Eyes on Addiction

Most of us have been impacted by some type of addiction. Many have lost hope. Join us for a lunch and learn series to become more aware and to learn about the disease of addiction, to recognize the myths surrounding addiction, and to explore the role of the church in bringing hope to those impacted. A light lunch will be provided. Donations for the lunch are welcomed. Childcare will also be available. Please register to help us accurately plan for food and materials.

Sunday September 29th at 12:15 AM in Fellowship Hall following the 11 AM Service

Discerning Our Core Values Together

EVERYONE is encouraged to take part in this open process as we gather for 2 four-hour sessions to discover what we value as a community, what values have guided us these past 100 years and what values will set the course for the next 100 years.

As we gather for meals and conversation, we’ll begin to discover the values we hold most near and dear to our hearts, individually and collectively. Naming these values enables us to build a powerful foundation for becoming who God created us to be.

Click here to register, and then save these dates, make them a priority, your input is important to this whole process: Sunday, September 22 from 12:15 –4:15 PM & Saturday, October 19 from 10 AM – 2:00 PM.

Our guide for this process is consultant and Founder of TreeFish Group, Jorie Stickel.

Jorie describes Core Values as: an expression of a community’s most fundamental attitudes. They are guiding principles that define how members of a group agree to treat one another and interact with the outside world. Once established, values can serve as a compass, pointing out a path forward when the way seems unclear.

Join us for this Core Value process as we honor the past, embrace the present and create the future!
