Welcome to Maple Grove UMC

Our mission is to be an open community of Christians who love God and serve our neighbors (Luke 10:27). We truly do believe and try to live out the slogan of our denomination's national ad campaign Open Doors, Open Minds, Open Hearts. Our ministry teams reflect our understanding that every member is a minister. Maple Grove is strategically located on the southwest corner of the busy High and Henderson intersection in the Clintonville-Beechwold area of Columbus which provides us a wonderful window to the world.  We would like to invite you to join us for any of our events, especially Sunday morning worship and Sunday School.

Now more than ever... Take a Closer Look:
An October Lunch and Learn Workshop

GCWBCome join us on Sunday, October 8 from 12:15-2:00 PM while we take a closer look at the importance recognizing bias and its role in promoting diversity and inclusion. Everyone has biases, both positive and negative. Sometimes we aren’t even aware that we have them. Our biases play a significant role in our lives and can have a larger impact our criminal justice, health care and education systems. Recognizing and confronting our biases can create positive social change and help us to become closer to Jesus. Childcare will be available. Bethany Glick, LISW-S and Duane Casares, LISW-S, will lead this session. Please sign up in the lobby or click here to register.

Now more than ever… Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

For Children and Youth!

Project Sunday School for Kids ages 4 – 6th grade.

This year’s theme is Women in the Bible! We will have periods of traditional curriculum with a craft or activity related to a bible story. And sometimes we will embark on a project-based period where kids will read a bible story or a scripture and then put together a performance for the congregation. This year’s first project will begin right away. The performance will be in worship on October 29. Project Sunday School meets in the upper education wing.

Youth Sunday School for grades 7th through 12th - meeting in Room 125.

Using the curriculum 52 Great Bible Studies for Youth, the youth are treated as responsible young people who want to learn more about the Bible and its meaning for their lives; the goal is to help them practice that Word in their daily living.

T.M.I. (Tween Ministry Incorporated) is a ministry for kids in grades 4-6.

Together we share God’s word, complete mission activities and have fellowship together. This year we will have our KICK OFF on September 10th 4-5:30 at the Whetstone Park Lower Playground. After that we will meet every other Sunday at the same time through November. Our first Saturday Night Soiree will be held on Saturday, October 21 at Maple Grove. Our first project in front of the congregation will be held on October 29!

Youth Group is for youth grades 7th through 12th

This group meets most Sundays during the school year from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. in the Youth Room. Our fall KICK OFF includes youth and parents on September 10th 4-5:30. Youth Group is a place to share what’s going on in our lives, explore how our faith shapes our decision, practice Christian community, do fun stuff, participate in service projects, and grow in God’s love.
