Winter Solstice – the longest night of the year – is our traditional time to acknowledge and remember those and that which we have lost. Loss can overwhelm any feelings of hope, peace, love and joy, especially this year when we were not able to gather and honor our losses in the ways we usually do.
There have been more losses than usual in 2020 – loss of life, with deaths in great numbers; loss of livelihoods; loss of love across differences; loss of liveliness and well-being.
Led by Greg White, and our Jazz Combo, we will gather online to remember our losses, but also that Christ is in the midst of those losses, and that on the darkest night, we begin to move toward the Light.
Jeanne and Bob Skinner have also prepared the Memorial Garden for you, with lights and blue angel to bring comfort and joy.
